Pebblewit is a small independent studio. We make browser games that are quick to start, kind to your attention and clever enough to keep you coming back.
Why "pebble"
A pebble is small, smooth and satisfying to hold. That is the feeling we aim for: games you can pick up for a few minutes, that fit in a pocket of your day, and that leave you a little sharper and a little calmer than before. You will find pebbles all over our games, from the stones in Pebble Blocks to the ripple that spreads across a board when you solve it.
What we make
- Arrows Away: Tap the arrows to send them off the board. Each one only leaves if nothing is in its way, so find the order.
- Wordfellows: Every board hides a few groups of words that belong together. Spot the links, sort the tiles, and walk through fifteen painted places.
Every game has a daily puzzle that is the same for everyone, so you can compare notes with friends, and a long run of levels that grow from gentle to properly tricky.
How we make puzzles
Our puzzles are generated by software we write ourselves, and then checked by more software. A logic puzzle only ships if a solver proves it has exactly one solution and can be finished by reasoning alone, without guessing. An arrow board only ships if it can be cleared. The difficulty of each puzzle is measured by the techniques it needs, which is how the levels can climb so evenly. We play the early levels of every game by hand and adjust whatever feels unfair.
What we promise players
- No pressure. No countdown timers and no move limits. Mistakes cost a heart or a star, never your progress.
- Fair puzzles. One clear solution, reachable by logic. When a game gives you a hint, it explains the reasoning.
- Ads in their place. Our games are free because of advertising. Ads appear between puzzles, never in the middle of one, and videos for hints or extra hearts are always optional.
- No accounts. You can play without signing up. Your progress stays in your browser on your device.
- Readable for everyone. A typeface designed for legibility, dark mode, keyboard controls, and colors that are never the only clue.
